Lisa and I have been married for 41 years. We have three grown daughters, Meredith, Laurel (who was 4 and 2 when we moved to the Czech Republic), and Shannon (who was born while we were in the Czech Republic), one son-in-law, Roque (Meredith’s husband), and two grandchildren, Valentino and Rosa.

Lisa and I were recruited to MAI in 1986 and joined staff in 1988 after seven years of coaching/teaching at Nyack College. We served for five years in LA before moving to the Czech Republic and leading a ministry team there for six years to help churches learn how to use soccer as part of their community outreach and to encourage/train Czech Christian athletes in sports ministry. Following our time in the Czech Republic, I worked three years with FCA and seven years on a church pastoral staff before returning to MAI in 2011.

Over the course of 26 years on staff, I have been blessed to be involved with every aspect of the ministry, from being a player/coach for the men’s amateur team to starting our first youth league, serving as Camp Director and Executive Director, leading or participating in ministry/training tours to 17 countries. 

I serve as the Operations Director and part of the Leadership Team. My main role is overseeing the office finances and all that entails. Budgeting, accounting, payments, receivables, government reporting, record keeping, and everything in between. I also take a lead role in our annual fundraiser golf tournament and help with other special events.
